Reead Rahamut, CPA, CGA, ACCA, MBA, IFQ - Vice President, Business Development and Financial Advisory

Reead Rahamut is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with many years of experience and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Derby. Reead is no stranger to Islamic Finance having spent two years as a Board of Directors of the Muslim Credit Union in Trinidad. Also, he holds a diploma in Islamic Finance from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.

Reead has over twenty years of experience in a diverse range of organizations and industries, including hedge funds, utilities, medical, government agencies, and non-profits across the Caribbean and Canada. He is presently a Director with the Caribbean Muslim as well as the Canadian Islamic Broadcasting and a former Executive Member of the TARIC Islamic Center in Toronto. His involvement with these organisations assisted with the development of Muslims across the Caribbean and North America.

Awais Surahyo, MBA, CIM, CSC, FCSI - Real Estate Broker VP Realty Services and Zero Product Expert

Awais Surahyo is privileged to live in different countries which nurtured him a living and working with different ethnicities, backgrounds, and languages. He graduated with Honors from New Jersey, USA in B.Sc. Finance and Executive MBA from Dubai, and finally settled in the beautiful city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Through the course of his Canadian career he has also acquired CSC (Canadian Securities Course), CIM (Chartered Investment manager), FCSI (Fellow of CSI) and Mortgage Broker course. He enjoyed 16-year career in the Financial Sector involving insurance, investments, lending, real estate, and retail banking i.e. last position held in Senior Management at BMO Bank of Montreal.

A few years back due to a course of events inspired him to enter self-employment journey via real estate investing. He is always and learnt about Islamic Finance, actually one of the reasons for leaving banking is to have a richer life in real estate to avoid riba. He is active in his community (active part of RLP shelter Foundation and The Mississauga food Bank) and local Muslim community/Mosque.

His comfort level spans serving everyone from high-profile corporate clients to individuals and families looking to find their perfect home. In his spare time he enjoys family time especially with his 2 children, reading, volunteering, and writing articles on LinkedIn to benefit people in their lives and personal finances.


Hassan Ben Hedy, B.B.A.. Zero Product Expert and Advisor

Hassan is part of the Zero Mortgage Team leading our Quebec expansion. He graduated with Honours from Stanford International. He also earned a Financial Diploma from the Canadian authority. He also graduated with an international real estate investment Diploma from California, USA. He is passionate about real estate and the financial industry. He participated in various research and international conferences in the financial snd investment field.

Hassan had the opportunity to live in different countries, including Tunisia, Morroco, France, UAE, USA, and Canada, where he interacted and worked with peoples of diverse backgrounds. He has also worked and developed different kind of businesses and participated in the success of large-scale businesses. He is committed to providing professional, ethical and honest financial and investment advice to clients. He fluently speaks various languages, Arabic, French, and English.

AbdiFatah Musse, B.B.A, MSc. IBF, Ph.D. Islamic Economics (Cand.) - Zero Product Expert and Advisor

Abdifatah Musse is part of Zero Mortgage’s Senior Advisor and Product Expert. He graduated with Honours from Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’azam Shah international Islamic University with a BBA. He also earned a M.Sc. in Islamic Banking and Finance from the Northern University of Malaysia. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. program in Islamic economics, emphasizing comparative analysis between Islamic and conventional financial institutions and economic growth. He is passionate about Islamic banking and finance and has written various Islamic Finance and banking publications in peer-reviewed journals. Abdifatah had the opportunity to live in different countries, including Somalia, Malaysia, and Canada, where he interacted and worked with peoples of diverse backgrounds. Outside academia, he has worked and co-founded Horn Action Aid (HAA), a not-for-profit organization that advocates social development and socio-economic inclusiveness in Somalia. He currently resides in Kitchener, Canada.

Sheikh Abu Abdus-Salam (Afraz), Zero Shari'ah Scholar, Madinah University

Abu Abdus-Salam (Afraz) is a Sharee'ah graduate of the Islamic University of Madeenah, Saudi Arabia. He has been an active Imam, Khateeb, Instructor, and Community Worker for the past 25 years in Toronto and Vancouver. Abu Abdus-Salam served several diverse ethnic Canadian Muslim communities. For the past 11 years, Abu Abdus-Salam served in the capacity of a Muslim Chaplain/Imam in numerous institutional settings; university, hospital, community, and prison. Currently he is a Muslim Chaplain and Spiritual Health Practitioner.(Abu Abdus-Salam has been a Diminishing Musharakah Home Financing client for many years. He has researched Islamic Finance extensively and joined many meetings on Islamic Finance.

Sh Habeeb Alli, Canadian Imam

Shaikh Habeeb Alli originates from Guyana where he studied at Queen's College and then traveled to India where he graduated a Masters in Islamic Theology and Arabic Language from Deoband Darul Uloom, and also a Diploma in Journalism. Sh Habeeb has authored sixteen titles on Islam and poetry including Islamic Finance. He is a member of the Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians and the Canadian Council of Imams. He is an honorary director for the Moeen Centre for Persons with Disabilities. Sh Habeeb presently serves as Community Development Manager at Muslim Food Bank and Federal Chaplain with Correctional Services Canada. He has been active in promoting Islamic Finance for the last 20 years and has attended many Islamic Finance conference and has been a speaker at these events. He has spent time with leading Islamic Finance personalities.

Mufti Ismail Ebrahim Desai, Shariah Officer

Mufti Ismail Ebrahim Desai is an internationally reputed Shariah scholar and Islamic finance expert who is a Shariah Advisor and member of Infinity's Shariah Supervisory Board. He currently serves as Shariah Advisor to various Islamic financial institutions and educational institutes around the world including Ideal Ratings, Southern African Consultant, Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance, Centre for Advanced Islamic Economics, Jenuard Holdings AG, Al-Mabroor Investments besides other Islamic investment firms and real estate funds around the world. Mufti Ismail has developed various Shariah auditing, governance and risk management standards for Islamic financial institutions and has issued several hundred expert legal opinions (fatwas) with a special focus on Islamic finance and economics. Mufti Ismail holds a Master's in Islamic Finance and a Master's in Islamic Theology from the Institute of Islamic Jurisprudence, Durban, South Africa.

Soheib Ghizali, Vice President

An MBA graduate from Marquette University – Wisconsin, Soheib brings in 20 years of progressive expertise in all facets of mortgage industry within fast paced, high-profile Islamic banks, financial institutions and real estate developers across UAE. He has worked with Dubai Islamic Bank and Dubai Financial Market, before joining in Zero Mortgage Canada.

Abdul Haq Ingar, Senior Advisor and Community Liaison

Abdul Haq Ingar has worked in various senior positions for over 30 years, working with companies such as Rogers Wireless. He was a long-time advisor for the Liberal Party as well as a past candidate for Toronto City council. He was a past president for one of Toronto’s largest Mosques. He is an established community leader, liaising with all levels of government, acting as a regular spokesperson on community issues, and as coordinator and senior member for many community non-profit organizations. He was one of 12 Imams and community leaders that were invited to meet with former PM Paul Martin when over 170 Imams signed a ruling (Fatwa) denouncing terrorism. He has co-hosted events for visiting Islamic scholars such as Mufti Rafi Usmani, Mufti Zubair Usmani, Shaykh Suleman Nadwi, and others. He supports the development of Islamic finance in Canada. To help further the development of Islamic finance in Canada, he hosted an Islamic finance evening at the mosque he was president of, inviting over 30 Canadian Imams to meet with visiting international senior Islamic scholars such as Shaykh Nizam Yaquby, Dr. Aznan Hassan, and Mufti Barkatullah.
